Cinnamon Apple Muffins, Hot Chocolate, and Cold Weather

A while ago, my mom made gluten free cinnamon apple muffins and I took a photo. The photo, until now was buried under others in my phone’s photo library. So here it is!

.

We also went to Starbucks and my hot chocolate was looking especially post-worthy…

.

.

And last, but not least, I captured the great cold weather that I love in a photo from the car yesterday.

.

Now back to school.

Utah Road Trip

My family and some of our friends went on a road trip to Moab, Utah last month. We hiked around the Arches National Park and got some amazing photographs. Everything was breathtaking. One of the hikers we chatted with summed the place up perfectly: “No matter where you look, there is always a great view.”

.

In addition to the awe-inspiring, massive fins of solid rock and thin, fragile arches, the people who we encountered were also really fascinating. There were Russians, Swedes, British, who all came to experience the Arches National Park. They were so diverse, people from all over the world. Experienced hikers and ones who had no previous experience with hiking. People of all ages and walks of life. And although each person there was completely individual and unique, we were all at the same place in a kind of anonymous unity. We were strangers to one another, but all here to experience the Arches. It was amazing.

My Favorite Kind of Weather…

The weather has finally been getting colder! I went out on a walk before school and took some pictures.

.

My favorite fall tea is pictured second. It’s like cider in a bag! It’s the Hot Apple Cider Tea by Republic of Tea. Speaking of favorites, I’m thinking about doing a monthly Favorites Post with my favorite nail polish, hand cream, hair product, school subject, tea, snack, movie, and song.

Above are some nature photos I took on early morning walks, along with some pictures from my life: my dog, an antique coffee box, and our family’s aprons.

.

I will be sharing a recipe soon! Maybe a nice cider.

Summer Is Here!

Today is the first official day of summer! And I have taken the time to upload three images.
.
.
I will be posting a how-to for the Summer Flower hairstyle soon. The macaroni and cheese is a recipe that we have been working on for a while, and I will hopefully have time to post a recipe for that in the future. I also would like to post a how-to for the clay plate, but that will have to wait until later.

Strawberry Lemonade
.
You’ll need:
.
1/4 cup chopped fresh strawberries
3 very thin slices of fresh lemon
5 cups water
1/2 cup lemon juice
.
In a blender, process the strawberries until they are all the same consistency. Add 1 tablespoon of water and blend until thin and smooth. In a large bowl, mix the lemon juice and water together and add 10 drops of liquid stevia. Mix the blended strawberries with the lemon, water, and stevia. Stir until combined. Pour into glasses. Place a slice of lemon on top. Serves three to four. Enjoy!
.
Happy summer!

Outdoor Photography and Reverse Videos

I’ve been doing some photo posts lately, so I decided to do a real post with words. Over the past couple weeks, I took lots of pictures of my backyard: the trees, blossoms, flowers, new plants, and tulips… (also, you can see that I’ve been using A Beautiful Mess‘ new photography app available on the App Store!)

.

.

.

.

My brother and I bought an app that reverses videos, and we have had a BLAST playing around with that. Some things to experiment with if you like reverse videos:

.

  • Pick flowers = place flowers and join them to their stems
  • Spray water = draw up water from the ground
  • Jump out of a tree (carefully!) = leap into a tree
  • Eat food = take food out of your mouth whole/
  • Tear paper into little pieces and sprinkle them = pick up pieces of paper using “the Force” and join them seamlessly.
  • Crinkle paper up = smooth paper out

.

Have fun!
